We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive special school.

Our school caters for pupils in KS2 – KS4 with a diagnosis of Autism. We are seeking an English Teacher with experience of working with students on the Autism Spectrum, who would be able to develop, plan and deliver a stimulating English curriculum, appropriate for the needs of our students, including a pathway for GCSE’s.

The Role – English Techer:

Must have experience of teaching the English curriculum successfully as a qualified teacher in a UK school

Develop and implement a dynamic English curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students

Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a holistic and supportive learning environment

Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods to optimize learning outcomes

The Person – English Teacher:

Be a confident and passionate teacher with experience in SEN

Have experience in teaching pupils with Autism

Possess a love for working with children and a dedication to helping them achieve excellent progress

Be committed to their professional development and the development of their pupils

Be an excellent practitioner with a proven track record of outstanding classroom practice

The School – English Teacher:

Situated within a beautiful Edwardian building, recently refurbished to a high standard specifically considered for the needs of children with autism

Students are supported in small classes (maximum 10 pupils)

Onsite speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, CAMHS, music therapy, Lego therapy, art therapy and counselling are an integral part of the provision.

We provide a supportive and nurturing environment for students, following a bespoke curriculum which takes account of individual learning needs.
