Experienced DT Teacher – Dagenham – Secondary School 

A large school in Dagenham is looking to appoint an experienced DT teacher to join a successful department. Depending on experience the school can offer this as a Head of Department role if a suitable candidate is found.

The Design & Technology department have a vibrant curriculum through KS3 which challenges creativity and progress. In KS4 they offer a BTECH TECH qualification. Experience of this award would be extremely beneficial to this role. The school wants an experienced candidate so the role is not suitable for ECTs.

DT Teacher - Qualifications & Experience 

The successful candidate will: 

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree 
• Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning 
• Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor 
• Have knowledge of DT National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4
• Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff 
• Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students 
• Be able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies where necessary 
• HOD aspirations can be accommodated
