Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Brent – Permanent

Location: Brent

Salary: £23,066 - £24,961 per annum

Starting: As soon as possible

We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants who will cover classes across the school when needed as well as run interventions when not covering.

You will need to be able:

  • Be flexible, be able to work on your own initiative as well as follow guidance from teachers.
  • Have good behaviour management strategies.
  • Have a good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Be able to teach whole class following teachers’ planning.
  • Know when to adapt teaching to make it simpler or harder.
  • Mark books and feedback to the teachers about the outcome of lessons.
  • Liaise with teachers, Middle Leaders and Senior Leaders regarding learning in the classes taught.
  • Feedback to parents/carers about the behaviour when needed.

Abilities:

  • Previous successful experience of using information and communication technology to support learning
  • Previous successful experience of operating a range of resources and equipment in a learning environment, including videos, photocopiers.
  • Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information concerning the functions of the school.
  • Ability to build and form working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues, to work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and to prioritise between conflicting demands.
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and to develop new skills and learning opportunities.
