SENCO – Special Educational Needs Coordinator
Full time, Permanent
Outer London UPS3 – L5
September 2024
2 form entry Bexley School

We are very excited to offer the opportunity for an appropriately qualified, experienced and inspiring Primary special educational needs teaching professional to join our Dartford Primary School with Outer London weighting!

The School Board want to take the opportunity to add significant capacity to the teaching team by appointing a SENCO who will work very closely with the Headteacher and take responsibility for all aspects of the leadership and management of SEND provision.

We want to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a successful track record of teaching, leadership and management in a SEND setting, ideally in the secondary phase and with SEMH experience. The post represents an incredibly exciting opportunity for the right person to take the lead role in building on the success the School has enjoyed since it opened in its own state of the art facilities, to further help to secure it as a centre of both SEND and SEMH excellence in the local area and to make a significant contribution towards shaping future provision as it expands.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated SENCO who will:

  • Have a highly successful track record in leading staff in the delivery of high quality SEND and SEMH provision.
  • Thrive on working in a challenging but equally immensely rewarding environment.
  • Display a passion for our vision, our pupils and inspire all stakeholders to do the same.
  • Truly want to make a difference by delivering provision of the highest possible quality.
  • Model best practice in leadership and have high expectations of pupils and staff.

About our Primary School

We believe in a values-based approach to the culture we foster at our Primary School. We have a committed staff who are dedicated to putting in every effort to establish a firm foundation for the children's future as life-long learners

What we will offer you as a SENCO

  • Excellent and well-resourced facilities
  • Support from the Headteacher alongside a high degree of professional autonomy.
  • The opportunity to join and further grow our small and highly supportive team which prides itself on its commitment to school improvement, CPD and career enhancement.
  • Very low pupil-teacher ratios with generous Learning Support Assistant provision.
  • Free car parking.

Please note that as a school, we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time. All applicants must have a Qualified Teacher Status awarded by the British Department of Education.

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.  This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
