Key Responsibilities - Head of Music Department

  • Curriculum Leadership: Developing and implementing a music curriculum that meets educational standards and caters to students' varying levels and interests.
  • Instructional Leadership: Guiding music teachers in effective instruction through feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation and management of musical instruments, technology, and materials.
  • Student Engagement and Achievement: Creating a supportive environment for student learning, organising performances, and fostering extracurricular activities.
  • Collaboration: Working with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the music program and create opportunities for students.
  • Professional Development: Supporting music teachers' growth through mentoring and training.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Monitoring student progress and evaluating teaching effectiveness.

 

Requirements - Head of Music Department

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Music Teacher, with a track record of raising student achievement.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Passion for music education and a commitment to creating enriching experiences for students.
  • Dedication to personal and professional development, with a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
