As an ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School, we are looking to appoint an experienced RE Teacher, as the Head of RE. The Head Teacher is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working RE Teacher, as Head of RE, who will have the aim of raising attainment, to lead the department.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Head of RE

• Head of RE
• Teaching Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
• Delivering good and outstanding RE lessons
• Leading a Department to raise attainment
• Full time and permanent position – employed by the school
• Outer London pay scale + Academy Allowance £1500
• MPS4 £40,218 – UPS3 £51,179 + TLR (Depending on experience)

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Head of RE

• Must hold UK QTS
• Ambitious and driven personality
• Pro – active approach
• An advocate for your subject – RE
• Able to teach RE to a high calibre
• Good understanding of the RE curriculum
• Graded ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ in recent lesson observations
• Experience of leading a team or managing members of staff ideal
• Previous responsibility an advantage – pastoral or curriculum focused
