Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons in Business Studies and Economics to students across key stages 4 and 5, stimulating curiosity and encouraging independent thought
  • Utilise innovative teaching methods and resources to bring real-world relevance to the curriculum, preparing students for success in further education and future careers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to promote academic achievement and personal growth
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective schemes of work, assessment strategies, and enrichment opportunities within the department
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities, enrichment programs, and school events

 

The Essentials:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Business, Economics, or a related field from a UK university
  • Proven experience teaching Business Studies and Economics at secondary level, with a track record of achieving positive outcomes for students
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum for Business Studies and Economics, including GCSE and A-level specifications
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for your subject area, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning
