Business/Economics Teacher – April 2024 – Independent Secondary School – Lambeth

As a Business & Economics Teacher, you would be joining a well-established, friendly, and collaborative team. Therefore, we are currently seeking either an ECT or a more experienced Business or Economics Teacher to hit the ground running from April 2024.

The school are looking for a Business/Economics Teacher who:

  • Holds a UK QTS only obtained from a UK institution!
  • Experience in teaching KS3-KS5 in the UK
  • Provides a high-quality educational experience for all students
  • Identifies clear learning objectives, content, lesson structures and sequences appropriate to the subject matter and the students being taught
  • Ensures effective teaching of whole classes, groups, and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time
  • Can assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment and school provided data on a regular basis for future teaching and target-setting
  • Graded ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ in recent lesson observations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that students are taught in line with the examination specification
  • Adhere to the departmental scheme of work
  • Keep records of the students’ attendance in lessons
  • Follow the guidelines for o high quality teaching as defined in the handbook
  • Setting, marking, and assessing work as stated in the staff handbook o use of resources; checking of student files; learning support; use of ICT; health and safety procedures o classroom management as defined in the department’s classroom management and discipline policy
  • Implement any recommendations for improvement in teaching or administration that are made by subject leaders or senior members of staff
  • Attend in-service training and classroom observation plus feedback sessions as requested by the Head of Department
  • Ensure that coursework deadlines and internal and external exam arrangements are clearly communicated to student.
