  • Supporting this pupils 1:1
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Implementing de-escalation techniques
  • Working with the student to engage within lessons
  • Giving lots of positive praise, mentorship, and encouragement
  • Be a strong positive role model

Person specification – Autism Support Worker

  • Previous experience within a SEMH or SEN environment
  • Team Teach or similar training is desired
  • Calm, robust & resilient
  • Must be able build excellent rapport with both student and colleagues
  • Calm approach while setting clear boundaries and expectations
  • Personality is key for this role
