Q – Do you have experience working with pupils with Autism?

 

A brilliant school in Teddington (Richmond) is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant with Autism experience.

 

The pupils you will be required to assist will be ranging from Nursery – Reception and will have severe autistic needs. The pupils are able to communicate effectively, however a Teaching Assistant that has previous experience in the field will be beneficial.   

 

Making a positive contribution is the aim in this role, so the ability to engage, lead and support is essential.

SEN Teaching Assistant – The Person:

  • Previous experience is beneficial
  • Ideal role for an aspiring SEN Teacher or an Educational Psychologist
  • You will need to be able to inspire and motivate pupils with autism
  • Role model behaviour and be able to remain calm and composed under pressure

 

SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role:

  • September 2020 – December 2020 (potential to continue on afterwards depending on funding)
  • Working alongside class teachers and therapists throughout
  • Supporting students both academically and often emotionally
  • Reporting progress to the teacher and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Full-time, long-term, £70 per day
  • Possibility of a permanent contract after an initial trial period
  • September 2020 start
