Clarus Education have begun the search for aspiring Science Teachers who are seeking to gain that all-important classroom-based experience and development before enrolling onto teacher training.


Clarus are working alongside a fantastic secondary school (mixed – 11-18yrs) located in the South London Borough of Sutton looking for academically gifted Science graduates (ideally Physics) who have a passion for all thing’s education – does that sound like you?

Role Description:

  • Science Teaching Assistant – Secondary Teaching Assistant 
  • Ideally a Physics graduate – 1st class or 2:1
  • Work within a large & successful Science department 
  • Support in class and eventually plan, prepare and deliver small group sessions
  • Provide 1:1 support for marginalised students
  • You will be expected to support pupils of ranging abilities
  • Focus on all 3 sciences across KS3 & 4 and specialise in KS5
  • £80-£90 per day PLUS impressive healthcare package
  • September 2020 start date 
  • Full time & long term
  • You must be able to commit to the entire academic year (Sept 2020 – July 2021) 
  • After a successful year – opportunity to embark upon schools SCITT


Person Specification:

  • You must be a Science graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 degree 
  • Specialisms in Physics are of real interest 
  • Candidates must have impressive A Level & GCSE results
  • You must be passionate about Science & learning
  • Ability to explain complex concepts well 
  • You will need to be patient, empathetic & compassionate
  • Have a versatile & positive approach to teaching & learning
  • A future Science Teacher!
