A welcoming SEN School in the Borough of Greenwich are looking to recruit a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start, offered on a long term basis for the rest of the academic year.

As a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant you will be working with children across several age groups in a SEN school. You will be working with children with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ASD, behavioural issues, and speech and language difficulties.

The SEN school provides an environment which prepares pupils as confident, happy citizens. Staff have high academic aspirations for every one of its pupils, and work hard to meet the mental health needs of all pupils, whilst supporting their families along their journey.

Job description – Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant

• Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant
• Working in a Secondary SEN school
• Working with children with a range of SEN
• Supporting children across several year groups – academically and socially
• ASAP start
• Full time and long term
• £75 - £90 per day – scope for pay to increase after 12 weeks
• Potential for permanent contract from September
• Located in Greenwich

Person Specification – Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant

• Must have a good degree from a reputable University
• Strong academic background in GCSEs, A Levels and Degree
• Experience working with highly complex SEMH pupils, on a professional or personal level, would be ideal
• Patient and compassionate nature
• Adaptable and willing to get stuck into a role
• Creative and resilient with a good work ethic
