Learning Support Assistant (LSA) | Supporting a range of SEN | Islington

 

A fantastic Secondary School in the Borough of Islington are looking to appoint several Learning Support Assistants (LSA) for an ASAP start. This role will involve you working with a small number of SEN students throughout the school. The needs you will likely be supporting are Dyslexia, Learning & Behaviour difficulties, and mild Autism (ASD).

 

You will be working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, as well as working in the Learning Support Department helping with Maths, English, Science, and more activities. Lessons will be pre-planned with a clear outline of what’s expected and where progress is supposed to be made. Your line manager will be the Secondary Schools SENCO, where she will give you clear guidance throughout.

 

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is particularly interested in supporting SEN in an older (Secondary) setting, while also perfect for an aspiring Secondary Teacher who is looking to gain experience in a Secondary environment ahead of teacher training!

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Supporting a range of SEN: Dyslexia, Learning & Behaviour difficulties, and mild Autism (ASD)
  • Working alongside Subject Head of Departments, SEN Teachers and the Schools SENCO
  • 1:1 or group support – 11-16 years old (KS3 & KS4)
  • Additional training provided throughout
  • ASAP until July 2022, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • £75 - £90 per day, Term Time Only
  • Located in the Borough of Islington

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • University degree is essential!
  • You must be an outgoing, committed and a passionate individual
  • Must be able to use your own initiative
  • Good GCSEs and A Level required
  • Strong understanding about SEN & Secondary Curriculum
