1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Severe Autism and Behaviour Difficulties

A fantastic Central London School in the borough of Enfield are looking for a resilient and motivated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Reception.

This child has a range of needs that will need to be supported – Severe Autism. The role will also involve carrying out 1:1 interventions based on building social skills, increasing focus on adult or group activities and communication. In addition, you will need to manage the child’s behaviour as they can sometimes hurt other children and are very active moving around the classroom.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone highly experienced in working with Autism with a strong personality and easily adaptable. This is ideal for anyone looking to go into a Psychology or Mental Health based career!

In return, the school will support you with background knowledge of the child as well as providing training on specific interventions that need to be carried out. If successful, Clarus Education will also provide Team Teach training to help with de-escalation techniques.

ROLE:

  • 1:1 Reception SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting Severe Autism and Behaviour Difficulties
  • Carrying out 1:1 Interventions such as Attention Autism
  • 5 days a week, 8:30am – 4:00pm, Term Time Only
  • ASAP start until July 2022
  • £75 - £90 per day
  • Working alongside the SENCO, Educational Psychologists and Social Workers
  • Training provided in Team Teach and Interventions

CANDIDATE:

  • Graduate preferred but not essential
  • Minimum 1yr Experience with Autism and/or behaviour
  • Good understand of ASD and other areas of SEN
  • Strong personality and up for a challenge
  • Ideal for Aspiring Psychologists or Mental Health Professionals
