Key Responsibilities for Science Teacher Role:

  • Teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS3 & KS4).
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that inspire students and promote academic success
  • Ensure excellent pupil outcomes, including preparation for GCSE examinations.
  • Work with a team of supportive and committed colleagues to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Support students with diverse academic needs and SEND, helping them achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events as required

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Fully qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) for secondary teaching in the UK
    • A degree in a Science subject (or equivalent) and/or strong A-Levels in Science
    • Proven experience of teaching and supporting pupils, particularly those with SEND and diverse academic needs
    • Knowledge of the current curriculum and experience teaching Science up to GCSE level
  • Desirable:
    • Specialism in one or more areas of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
    • Ability to teach at Key Stage 5 (A-Level Science) would be an advantage
    • Experience of achieving excellent GCSE results and helping students succeed in exams
