We are seeking a full time Lecturer in Science, specialising in Biology and Chemistry, to join our successful team based in Harrow.  You would teach on a range of courses including A level, BTEC Science, GCSE, Access to HE, A Level and T Levels. 

You will possess a degree in Science and have successful teaching experience in the subject area up to and including Level 3 (A Level, T Levels and/or BTEC), specialising in Biology and Chemistry.  You should have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage and inspire young learners.  

Qualifications

• A degree in a Science subject
• Minimum Level 5 level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. PGCE/DET)** or willing to work towards a teaching qualification, supported by the College

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience of teaching Science up to and including Level 3 (A Level and/or BTEC), specialising in Biology and Chemistry
• Experience of teaching Biology on the Access to HE programme
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Track record of success in teaching and student achievement
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good classroom practice
• Experience of course leadership
• Ability to use IT / e-learning within the curriculum and ability to deliver teaching, learning and assessment online
• Good administration/organisational skills
• Experience of pastoral tutor role
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Understanding of the importance of Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding in education
• Self-motivation
• Understanding of, and ability to demonstrate, strategies to engage and inspire young learners
