House Parent – Independent Day & Boarding Secondary School - Lambeth

ROLE: House Parent – Secondary School

CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 44 hours per week (closed for Christmas and summer holidays)

PAY: £27,143 per annum

Start Date: January 2025

LOCATION: Lambeth

As an independent co-educational day and boarding and day school we are looking to recruit a House Parent to join our dynamic team.

Our Independent Secondary School is a place of diverse thinking and influences housed in a futuristic building with cutting edge facilities. With a caring, supportive and student-focused environment, students benefit from amazing learning and teaching opportunities for students aged 13 – 19 years old.

As a House Parent, you will be assisting students’ academic and holistic development, ensuring that students are safe, secure and successful. You will need to have strong pastoral care skills and previous experience.

Details about the House Parent role:

Working across KS3 – KS5

Member of the Boarding Team

Leading one of the boarding ‘house’, looking after the welfare and personal development of students within boarding

Working with the pastoral team to monitor boarders

Some overnight duties – accommodation provided

Building and maintaining strong relationships with parents, guardians and agents

Maintain student files including records of behaviour, sanctions, rewards, medical history, medical assistance given etc.

Supporting the school’s ethos encouraging achievement and high standards for all students

Strong pastoral care experience required

Proven track record of working with young people in a boarding or residential environment

Excellent communication & IT skills

First Aid trained ideal

Good interpersonal skills

Team player, but also able to work autonomously
